Privacy Policy

Effective 11 June 2026

Latitude is a private, on-device night-sky app made by Quantyx. It shows the real sky above your exact location — the Moon, planets, bright stars and constellations. We designed it to collect as little as possible, which in practice means we collect nothing about you at all.

The short version

There is no account and no sign-up. There are no Quantyx servers. Everything Latitude creates stays on your device. We have no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party software development kits. Your location is used only on your device and is never uploaded.

Your location

Latitude uses your location only on your device, to compute the real sky above your exact spot. Your location is never transmitted to Quantyx or to any third party, and it is never stored off your device. If you prefer not to share location, you can choose a city manually instead.

What Latitude stores, and where

The skies you keep, and any astrology birth details you enter — your own or other people's — are stored locally on your device only. If you save an image to Photos or share a sky, that happens through Apple's standard system features, under your control. The astrology and horoscope features are computed on your device from real astronomy and are provided for entertainment.

What we do not do

We do not run a backend, so your content is never uploaded to us. We do not collect analytics or usage statistics. We do not use advertising or marketing trackers. We do not embed third-party SDKs. We do not sell, rent or share data, because we never receive any.

Optional network requests

Latitude makes only a few optional, user-initiated network requests, and none of them include any personal information about you. It can fetch NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day to show the daily image, and a public International Space Station position to show where the ISS is. These fetch public data only — not your identity and not your location.

Device permissions

Latitude asks for location to compute your local sky, for the camera only when you use the augmented-reality "point at the sky" mode, and for photo-library access only when you choose to save a sky. This stays on your device. You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app. Any reminders the app sends are scheduled locally on your device — we have no push server.

Children

Latitude does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there is no account and no data leaves the device for Quantyx to receive, the app does not gather information about users of any age.

Deleting your data

You are always in control. You can delete saved skies and astrology profiles inside the app, and deleting the app from your device removes its local data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects nothing, any change will be to clarify wording rather than to expand data collection.
