Privacy Policy

Effective 2 June 2026

Tearsheet is a private, on-device scrapbook made by Quantyx. It is built so that your scrapbooks belong to you and only you. We designed it to collect as little as possible, which in practice means we collect nothing about you at all.

The short version

There is no account and no sign-up. There are no Quantyx servers. Everything you put into Tearsheet stays on your device and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We have no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party software development kits. We never see your content and we cannot retrieve it.

What Tearsheet stores, and where

Your scrapbooks, pages, photos, notes, links, voice notes, places, files and drawings are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, that same content is also stored in the private database of your personal Apple iCloud account so it can appear on your other devices. This iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy terms and is not accessible to Quantyx.

What we do not do

We do not run a backend, so your content is never uploaded to us. We do not collect analytics or usage statistics. We do not use advertising or marketing trackers. We do not embed third-party SDKs. We do not sell, rent or share data, because we never receive any.

Optional network requests

Tearsheet only contacts the network for two optional, user-initiated features. When you save a web link, the app may fetch a preview of that link using Apple's LinkPresentation framework. When you drop a map pin, the app may load a map snapshot using Apple's MapKit. These requests go to Apple and the relevant website, not to Quantyx, and only happen when you take those actions.

Device permissions

Tearsheet asks for camera, microphone, photo library and location access only to let you add that kind of content to a page: a photo you take, a voice note you record, an image from your library, or a place you want to remember. This information is placed into your scrapbook on your device. It is not sent anywhere. You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Children

Tearsheet does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there is no account and no data leaves the device for Quantyx to receive, the app does not gather information about users of any age.

Deleting your data

You are always in control. You can delete individual items, pages or whole scrapbooks inside the app. Deleting the app from your device removes its local data. If you used iCloud sync, you can remove the app's data from your iCloud account through the iOS Settings app under your Apple Account > iCloud.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects nothing, any change will be to clarify wording rather than to expand data collection.
